Xander is learning ABC's! We have been using flashcards with Xander. He recognizes all of his letters, and it starting to learn the sounds for the letters, too. Now, if we could just get the potty down!

We have been SOOO busy the last several months. I have been very bad about getting new pictures up. I hope to be much better in the coming months. We are planning a Halloween party on November 1st, and hope to have new pictures up for that. Alyssa from Magic Photos is going to be there, and she always does an excellent job! Xander has been growing like a weed. He is talking constantly. He is still a very good boy, though we have definitely entered the terrible two’s.

He has become quite the escape artist. He has learned the doggies door is the perfect quick escape into the backyard. Now that he is adept at driving his tractor, the backyard has much more appeal. Though, it is a little frightening for Mommy and Daddy when Xander decides to take a stroll outside without mentioning it. We have had to Xander proof all of our gates to ensure that he can’t open them.

He has also learned to cook. He gets his eggs out the refrigerator, puts them on the counter, brings over a chair to the kitchen counter, and gets to cracking eggs. Then he mixes the eggs, gets the salt and pepper grinder out of the cabinet and we season the eggs. Then it’s off the microwave, or letting Mom or Dad put the eggs in the frying pan. He is quite the Emeril. I’m sick of eggs ;).

Well, we recently got back from our first family vacation. We went to a wedding in Panama City Beach, and then spent a couple of days in Orlando. We went to Animal Kingdom, Sea World and Magic Kingdom. We'd share pictures, but unfortunately, on the last day of our trip, our car was broken into and most of our luggage was stolen, including our camera and all of our pictures. But, we still have lots of great memories! We will be going back next year to get pictures!

Stephanie:  I'm so sorry you had your vacation tainted at the end! That's really sad but I'm glad that you had a good first family vacation. Sounds like so much fun.
Grandma Poteet:  So sorry about yourbad luck in Florida, whats bad is all the pictures you lost, but guess you have memories. love Grandma

Well, Grandma Poteet wins the prize for first grandma name spoken. Xander loves his Grandma Poteet. It is so cute to hear him say her name. He gets excited anytime you ask him if he wants to see his Grandma Poteet. I think it has something to do with her eggrolls!

Xander is sitting on the potty! We are very proud of him. He hasn't "done the deed yet," but he is trying very hard.

Wow, what a difference a month makes. Xander is talking up a storm now. He knows lots of new words, adding several everyday, it seems. He is piecing his words together for short sentences quite regularly now, too. He has been saying, “No Razz” and “Get down.” for a while, but now he is also saying, “Put back” “Go upstairs” and “Go downstairs” among other things that we don’t understand yet.

We’ve been sick a lot around the house the last couple of months. We are hoping to get over all of the germs that Xander is bringing home from daycare so that we can enjoy the thousands of tons we received fro Christmas.

Xander’s toy store has prompted Daddy to get to work on the family room upstairs, which is very exciting. We are ready to more everything upstairs so that Mommy and Daddy have a grown-up house again downstairs.

We are excited to start off another new year with our family. I think Xander is especially excited that Cousin Wyatt is going to be moving somewhere close…. Soon, we hope! With the taste of spring that we got last weekend, we are anxious to get out in the yard to play and just get crazy. I see a monstrous playground in Xander’s future!

Grandma Poteet:  Sounds like Xander is getting to be a big boy in his talking and so much more to come, I know he is a lucky boy to have parents who love him so much, love Grandma Poteet

We are actively getting ready for Christmas at our house. April, Keith and Wyatt will be here for Christmas this year, so this should be a very exciting year! Xander is eager to see Santa again this year. He can say Ho! Ho! Ho! and can't wait to open his presents with his cousins!

Xander is talking up a storm. He has a vast vocabulary alright. Though, top of the list is "no."

Grandma Helen:  Zander looks like hes having alot of fun in the snow, hes sure growing, hope to see him soon. Love Grandma

Xander had a very fun Halloween. He loved seeing all of the trick-or-treaters come to the house. He wasn't too fond of wearing his costume, but he still had a good time running around with cousin Wyatt. Mommy broke her camera, so she is waiting on Auntie April to send her pictures of the little chicken to post on the site!

    Comments:
Grandma Poteet:  I copied the little chicken from Aprils e-mail so I could show my club ladies my little chicken, they thought he was a cutie as I did, Love Grandma
Grandma Poteet:  I am waiting for a picture of my little chicken, he was sooooo cute

Well, Sunday was quite the day for us. Xander had his first emergency room visit. He was walking around in the livingroom when he fell on a plastic bath book that was on the floor. He sliced his little check open, and we had to take him to the ER. Thankfully, they used the glue instead of stitches. I'm sure this is the first of many scratches, bumps and brusises our little guy will have. I guess he gets his grace from his father ;)

    Comments:
Becky:  Poor boy! Eventually you get comfortable crying in public right along with him. Nick got hurt I cried. He got shots I cried. He's tough its amazing how many times they will get hurt even though you watch them like a hawk.
Stephanie:  Wow! How scary to have your first ER visit! Honestly, I'm shocked that we haven't been there with David as he's such a climber/jumper/runner but our turn is probably coming with 2 boys! I'm glad that he's ok. Hope everything else is going well!
Grandma Poteet:  So sorry to hear about Xanders accident, but like you say it won't be the last, just so he is okay. Hear he is walking up a storm!!!! Love Grandma
